Forbes quoted partner Charles Sweet in an article about the firm’s work with Calvert Impact on the Cut Carbon Notes program, which received the 2024 Grunin Prize from the Grunin Center for Law and Social Entrepreneurship at NYU School of Law earlier this year.

Charles, who led the Morgan Lewis team along with of counsel Jeremiah Parker, spoke to Forbes about the motivation behind the creation of the program, which uses structured finance tools to address the outsized impact of greenhouse gas emissions from commercial buildings in the United States on climate change.

“[Calvert] wanted individuals to be able to invest in such projects. It’s part of their mission,” Charles said.

In addition to Charles and Jeremiah, the Morgan Lewis team that worked on the Cut Carbon Notes program included partners Kevin Biron, Tomer Inbar, Sarah Nelson, and Patricia Brennan, of counsel Marcus Marsh, and associates John Hreno, Ester Lee, Fiona Murphy, Chelsea Rubin, and Deborah Stern.
