WASHINGTON, DC, July 1, 2024: Morgan Lewis today welcomes Alice Hrdy, the former principal deputy assistant director of the Office of Supervision Policy at the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), as a partner resident in its Washington, DC office. Alice’s 30 years of federal service, including at the CFPB and Federal Trade Commission (FTC), brings tremendous depth of knowledge and experience in consumer banking and financial services regulation and investigations to Morgan Lewis. She will advise companies regarding regulatory compliance, examinations, investigations, and supervisory matters before financial regulatory agencies.

Alice will assist banks, financial services, fintech, and technology companies to understand and respond to examinations and inquiries from financial regulatory agencies. Along with Morgan Lewis’s deep bench of banking industry lawyers, Alice will represent clients in examinations, investigations, and contested supervisory matters before the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the FTC, and advise on related regulatory compliance.

Alice joins Morgan Lewis’s growing litigation practice of partners with deep regulatory backgrounds in the consumer protection and financial services spaces, including David Monteiro, a former enforcement lawyer with the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, Division of Financial Practices. In 2023, the arrival of a 10-strong consumer financial services class action litigation and regulatory team across five Morgan Lewis offices bolstered the firm’s consumer litigation, regulatory, and enforcement practice. And in late 2022, Kristin Lee and Christopher Paridon joined the firm to expand its bank regulatory capabilities.
