Partner Carl Valenstein and associate Casey Weaver wrote an article for POWER about supply chain issues and trade barriers affecting the US solar power industry, despite efforts and incentives to grow the country’s solar capacity. Carl and Casey note how the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) and other trade issues have slowed imports of project components and cover what could happen in the future.
“While we expect to see oversight hearings and other forms of scrutiny in 2023 to explore the effectiveness of the enforcement of the UFLPA, the issue of forced labor prevention continues to have bipartisan support,” they wrote.
