Comments from partner Scott Milner’s recent presentation at the Legal Geek North America conference in Chicago were included in a recent American Lawyer article.
Milner described how it might feel for any law firm leader trying to get their employees to embrace a new technology, or a new way of working.
Milner said it can be frustrating, but he counseled a sort of hands-on empathy in such situations, including clicking through the process those folks use to get a sense of why it might make sense for them.
Even for people who pride themselves on being disruptors, one of the takeaways was the importance of people. “To be a disruptor and prepare yourself and your business for the inevitable changes to come, you have to put the right people in place,” Milner stated in his presentation.
