Partner Nicole Buffalano spoke with The American Lawyer about Morgan Lewis’s 2026 World Cup Initiative to assist clients with business opportunities and the legal and regulatory challenges associated with the global sporting event. Nicole, who leads the initiative alongside partners Daniel Losk and Stephanie Sweitzer, noted the unique and historic setup of the 2026 Men’s World Cup, which will be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
“Business will face many cross-jurisdictional issues,” Nicole said.
“Organizations will want to ensure compliance with the multitude of federal, state and local laws for employment of employees across various jurisdictions. Global mobility and visa regulations will also be important, as you have organizations moving into U.S., Mexico and Canada as well.”
