Tara Lawler’s practice focuses on ediscovery, information management, and data privacy. She works with companies in all phases of ediscovery and information management to ensure that her clients’ matters are handled consistently, efficiently, and defensibly. Tara routinely oversees the day-to-day ediscovery strategy for clients, including negotiating proportional ediscovery scopes and time frames; negotiating ESI protocols, protective orders, and other applicable discovery-related protocols (such as plaintiff and defense fact sheets); counseling on preservation strategy; developing tailored collection strategies; and overseeing the overall discovery process.
Tara regularly represents some of the largest pharmaceutical and healthcare companies in high-stakes product liability, MDL, and government investigations. She is valued by clients for her breadth of experience serving as national discovery counsel, especially her advice on complex discovery issues and implementation of defensible, consistent, and cost-effective strategies and protocols. Tara routinely assists with the preparation and response to all written discovery, witness preparation (including Rule 30(b)(6) witnesses on discovery-related topics), and liaising with merits counsel on a variety of issues.
As part of Morgan Lewis’s eData practice, Tara employs thoroughly documented and successful techniques for managing discovery. Tara remains committed through all phases of litigation management, from legal holds and preservation to negotiations with opposing counsel and discovery motion practice to trial support. She partners with clients to preserve potentially relevant information, develop strategies for collecting hard-copy and electronic materials, establish a document review process, and assess various document production options.
Tara previously worked as an associate in the litigation practice of a national law firm.
