Ksenia Andreeva focuses her practice on complex transactions involving technology and intellectual property (IP) as well as data protection, information technology, and cybersecurity matters in connection with business transactions. Ksenia is adept at drafting and negotiating a broad range of IP- and technology-related commercial contracts, including licensing arrangements, outsourcing and services arrangements, SaaS agreements, technology development agreements, complex supply chain agreements, and franchise agreements, among others. Her experience also includes evaluating and advising on IP and technology issues that arise in general corporate transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and strategic alliances.
Based in the UAE office, Ksenia helps companies working in the MENA region evaluate the risks and opportunities related to the use of transformational technologies, the implementation of innovative technology and digitalization strategies, and new business-driving trends such as data monetization and artificial intelligence. She represents companies in the software development, media and entertainment, consumer products, manufacturing, transportation, financial services, and ecommerce industries.
As a registered trademark attorney, Ksenia also helps clients with overall IP protection and brand-building strategies, including registration, maintenance, and policing of their trademark and copyright portfolios.
As a complement to her transactional practice, Ksenia advises clients on data protection compliance issues, including with respect to the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and privacy laws in the Middle East. Ksenia is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/European Union (CIPP/E) and a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). She routinely advises clients regarding the establishment of privacy programs, procedures, and policies as well as regarding privacy compliance in terms of collection, use, transfer, and security of data, including in online, Internet of Things (IoT), and cross-border arrangements. Ksenia also co-hosts a podcast that explores both existing and emerging security and privacy risks and shares guidance, tips, and news in sphere of data protection.
