Jacob A. Sand represents clients in federal and state courts across the United States as lead and national counsel in complex commercial and class-based litigation, including those arising out of breaches of restrictive covenants, theft of intellectual property, allegations of institutional negligence, employment disputes, shareholder disputes, false and deceptive advertising claims, hacking and cybersecurity incidents, contract disputes, and defective products.
Jacob also conducts internal investigations for private companies and government agencies. Taking a hands-on approach, Jacob is involved in all facets of the investigatory process from interviewing witnesses to gathering digital forensic evidence. His investigation skills enable him to help clients respond to crises by identifying potential risks and developing solutions.
Jacob additionally counsels on compliance issues including cybersecurity, data privacy, risk management, export control, CFIUS, and the design and implementation of effective US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and anti-bribery compliance. In this capacity, he has administered internal trainings and developed policies, procedures, and best practices.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Jacob was a partner at another law firm. Prior to entering private practice, Jacob served as an assistant district attorney in the Major Trials Division of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.
