Constance Stefanou focuses her practice on protection and enforcement of matters related to trademark, false advertising, unfair competition, copyright, anticounterfeiting, and customs in the United States and globally. Connie advises Fortune 100 companies and emerging businesses across different industries on all aspects of intellectual property (IP) portfolio management at a global level, including issues involving trademark selection, clearance, registration, maintenance, and enforcement. Connie assists clients in protecting their valuable brands through administrative proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and in defending such actions brought by third parties.
Connie regularly counsels clients on a wide range of IP-related matters, including advising a Fortune 10 company on a major companywide global rebrand that involved a complex multijurisdictional trademark filing program. Connie also implemented a worldwide filing program for the largest ecommerce company in the world. In addition, Connie assists fast growing businesses with securing worldwide IP protection for their critical brands.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Connie was an associate at a nationally recognized law firm specializing in trademark and copyright law in Washington, DC. Connie previously worked at the US Copyright Office, where she helped establish remedies for copyright small claims, revised the Compendium of U.S. Copyright Office Practices, and drafted Review Board final administrative decisions on the Examining Division’s refusal to register works.
While attending law school, Connie served as a production editor of CommLaw Conspectus: The Journal of Communications Law and Policy, and as vice president of the Intellectual Property Law Students Association. Connie also competed in the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition as part of a two-person trademark moot court team. She received a certificate in recognition of her outstanding commitment to pro bono service. She is fluent in Greek.
