Alyssa R.M. Pugh is a registered patent attorney focusing her practice on intellectual property (IP) matters involving the life sciences, with an emphasis on patent prosecution strategies in the biopharma, biochemical, food science, industrial chemical, and medical device industries. With a background in genetics and developmental biology, her practice encompasses a wide variety of technical subject matter, including pharmaceutical formulations, biologics, gene therapy, medical diagnostics, therapeutic regimens, nutritional supplements, food chemistry, industrial chemistry, transgenic organisms, and recombinant DNA technology.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Alyssa was an associate at a Pennsylvania-based intellectual property boutique, where she focused on biomedical device technology and chemical formulations patent matters. She also worked as a chemical analyst at a consumer healthcare company, with experience in analytical techniques including chromatography. Her academic experience included participation in cancer and plant genetics laboratories, where she cultivated a deep familiarity with cell culture techniques and life cycle management of cells.
