Morgan Lewis has earned the No. 1 spot in the “breadth of commitment” category on The American Lawyer’s 2024 US Pro Bono Scorecard. Additionally, we were ranked No. 4 on the publication's accompanying 2024 International Pro Bono Scorecard, and secured the No. 9 spot on the US Scorecard.
Beyond aiding individuals in need across a broad spectrum of legal and business issues, we devote the firm’s expansive resources to tackling widespread and deeply entrenched societal concerns. Our lawyers take on matters impacting individuals and small groups as well as litigation driving large-scale societal change. We also advocate for nonprofit organizations and low-income entrepreneurs working to better the lives of those in their communities.
In fiscal year 2023, Morgan Lewis’s nearly 2,000 lawyers achieved 100% participation in the firm’s annual Pro Bono Challenge for the sixth year in a row with each lawyer contributing at least 20 pro bono hours and the average exceeding 50 hours of pro bono service.
The Pro Bono Scorecard’s average hours chart and the breadth of commitment chart rank Am Law 200 firms by the percentage of their US-based lawyers who performed more than 20 hours of pro bono work as of December 31, 2023.
