Jocelyn R. Cuttino partners with companies on a broad range of high-profile employment matters. Jocelyn is frequently called upon by executive leadership and boards to investigate workplace misconduct claims and advise on remediation measures. Recognizing that success depends heavily on the environments companies create for employees, Jocelyn is sought out for her skill examining company culture to identify strategies for improvement and for creating diverse and inclusive workplaces. Jocelyn also focuses on workplace culture in sports and is a co-leader of the firm’s global sports industry team.
Jocelyn is a founding member of the firm’s multidisciplinary workplace culture consulting team. Amid growing national attention on issues of racial and gender equity and social justice, Jocelyn helps employers address allegations of non-inclusive work environments. She regularly conducts workplace culture assessments and advises clients on improving the employee experience and fostering safe and respectful workplaces through policies, training, accountability, and relationship building. Jocelyn also helps develop plans for avoiding or minimizing workplace crises stemming from claims of workplace misconduct. Jocelyn works closely with Grace Speights, leader of the firm’s global labor and employment practice, on high-stakes matters. Several organizations have publicly recognized Grace and Jocelyn’s value in identifying credible allegations of inequitable treatment and helping to achieve workplace fairness and an environment of tolerance and respect.
Jocelyn’s work includes advising on corporate diversity and inclusion initiatives in an ever-changing legal landscape. She provides day-to-day counseling regarding employee complaints, performance management, leaves of absence, and disability accommodations. She works closely with employers to design legally compliant employment policies and build the infrastructure necessary to implement them. Jocelyn is a litigator and trial lawyer who handles employment law claims through all phases of litigation in federal and state court, up to and including trial, and before various government agencies. She defends clients against unsupported employment discrimination claims and counsels on litigation avoidance.
Jocelyn was recognized by Bloomberg Law as part of its “They’ve Got Next: The 40 Under 40” series, which highlights the next generation of legal leaders with track records of success in significant, high-impact client matters. Additionally, Law360 recognized Jocelyn as a “Rising Star.” She also was highlighted in The Washington Lawyer magazine for her work volunteering with the DC Bar Pro Bono Center’s Advice & Referral Clinic. Jocelyn received a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
