Practical Guide to ELTIF 2.0

January 2025

The European Long-Term Investment Funds (ELTIF) Regulation was introduced in 2015 to encourage investment in long-term projects within the European Union, aiming to channel funding toward key sectors such as infrastructure, sustainable energy, small and medium-sized enterprises, and technological innovation.

ELTIF 2.0, which came into force in January 2024, addresses initial concerns around structuring and distribution of these funds and marks a significant step forward for long-term investment in the European Union.

This guide produced by Morgan Lewis and the French association for asset managers, Association Française de Gestion Financière (AFG), provides an overview of ELTIF 2.0, and guidance around how to set up such funds.
