ABU DHABI, January 07, 2025: Morgan Lewis is representing international energy company Equinor in the sale of its equity stake in the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oilfields and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline in Azerbaijan to SOCAR, the state oil company of Azerbaijan Republic, and ONGC Videsh Limited, an India headquartered oil and gas company.
The transaction sees Equinor divest all its remaining assets in Azerbaijan. Based in Norway, Equinor is among the world’s largest offshore operators, with operations in around 30 countries.
The Morgan Lewis team advising Equinor includes partners Jennifer Josefson and legal consultant Alexandra Rotar. The firm also assisted Equinor in the sale of its shares in the Karabagh oil field to SOCAR, which completed on April 24, 2024.
