Morgan Lewis Advises Energy Capital Partners on Solar and Storage Project Acquisitions

BOSTON, HARTFORD, December 18, 2024: Morgan Lewis advised Energy Capital Partners (ECP) on the acquisition of a 50% equity stake in three US onshore projects from Danish clean energy company Ørsted. The value of the transactions is $572 million.

Under the terms of the deals, ECP will acquire an equity stake in Mockingbird Solar and Sparta Solar, two Texas 468-megawatt and 250-megawatt power plants, respectively, and the Eleven Mile Solar Center, a 300-megawatt solar and 300-megawatt/1,200-megawatt-hour battery storage project in Arizona.

ECP is an investment firm across energy transition infrastructure, with a focus on investing in electricity and sustainability infrastructure providing reliable, affordable, and clean energy. The company previously combined with Bridgepoint Group Plc to focus on value-added middle-market investing with a combined $73 billion of assets under management across private equity, credit, and infrastructure.
