SEC to Focus on Advisers’ Investment Outsourcing in 2025, Law360

Partner Christine Schleppegrell was quoted in a Law360 article that discusses how US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) examiners are poised to stay the course with their exam priorities in the coming year.

“Historically, I think the SEC exam staff has been more focused on outsourcing the chief compliance function,” said Christine, adding that “concentrating on outsourced chief investment officers goes ‘hand in hand’ with the agency’s focus on whether advisers are outsourcing core functions of their fiduciary offices and, if so, whether they are doing so responsibly.”
