Morgan Lewis Renews Public Service Commitment with 15th Annual Community Impact Week

June 03, 2024

WASHINGTON, DC, June 3, 2024: For the 15th consecutive year, Morgan Lewis kicks off its Community Impact Week, a global series of innovative pro bono and service programs that celebrate the firm’s enduring, year-round dedication to making deep, demonstrable differences in the lives of the underrepresented.

“I am proud to turn a spotlight once again on the Morgan Lewis Community Impact Week, which has for many years promoted multiple service and giving opportunities for all firm members to join,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Our people, clients, and nonprofit partners consistently devote their time to supporting a litany of great causes—and the breadth and depth of that work are impactful and inspiring.”

The featured event will consist of a captivating panel discussion presenting the extraordinary individuals at the heart of the book “The Secret Gate,” a gripping tale of a daring rescue amid the chaos of the US evacuation of Afghanistan in 2021. Meanwhile, many offices worldwide will be hosting award ceremonies to recognize work in areas such as LGBTQ+ rights, housing and homelessness, and migration.

Morgan Lewis’s nearly 2,000 lawyers achieved 100% participation in the firm’s annual Pro Bono Challenge for the sixth year in a row. Each lawyer contributed at least 20 pro bono hours, with the average exceeding 50 hours of pro bono service in the 2023 fiscal year. The work is truly expansive. Last year, the firm recorded more than 125,000 hours of free legal services for more than 2,000 pro bono clients—helping veterans to secure benefits, families who have fled conflict and persecution, including in Afghanistan, to secure legal status, and nonprofits that provide critical support to their communities.
