Semafor quoted partner Levi McAllister in an article discussing the Treasury Department’s Joint Policy Statement and Principles on Voluntary Carbon Markets.
Levi told the publication that while the high-level principles are welcome, they don’t do much to alleviate the concerns companies have about accusations of greenwashing. Therefore, companies are likely to remain wary of buying into the carbon market until there’s more evidence that offset brokers are actually adhering to these principles, Levi noted.
