LOS ANGELES, September 25, 2023: The California Lawyers Association (CLA) has honored Morgan Lewis partner John Hartigan with its Business Law Lifetime Achievement Award. John was selected as the 2023 recipient of the award in recognition of the reputation and respect he has earned in the legal community, his outstanding practice, and his contributions to the CLA, its Business Law Section, and the legal community at large.
John counsels clients on a range of matters, including securities law issues, mergers and acquisitions, private equity deals, corporate finance, US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulatory enforcement, and broker-dealer, investment adviser, and insurance issues. He also advises corporations and their boards of directors on governance, sensitive internal investigations, and complex business transactions. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, John served as assistant director of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement.
John also has ties to several professional organizations. He has served as vice chair of the Executive Committee of the Business Law Section and chair of its Education Committee, and he is a past president of the Association of Securities and Exchange Commission Alumni.
John received the award on September 22 at the CLA’s annual meeting in San Diego. He is featured in the CLA’s Business Law News and is profiled on the CLA’s website.
