Partner Russell Bruch is quoted in an International Employment Lawyer article about the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections for Nursing Mothers Act (PUMP Act)—a new law giving employees the right to break time and a private place to pump at work. Russell noted that along with possibly having to update certain policies to comply with the law, employers should talk to nursing employees about their expectations on the frequency and timing of breaks.
“Employers also should discuss with these employees the location and availability of space for expressing and storing milk and retrieving and cleaning supplies as that will affect the amount of time required,” Russell said.
