While the US Department of Justice Fraud Section secured 50% more convictions and nearly double as many trial wins in 2021 compared to 2020, the number of corporate-specific resolutions declined last year. Partner Sandra Moser told Law360, however, that an uptick in corporate cases can be expected during 2022, given the tougher corporate enforcement policies outlined by the Department of Justice. “There's been a lot of strong messaging about a very aggressive approach to corporate enforcement, and they won't want to shy away from that," she said.
