PHILADELPHIA, December 10, 2021: Morgan Lewis partner John Lavelle has been recognized by the Philadelphia Bar Association with its 2021 Citizens Bank Achievement Award for his significant accomplishments in improving the administration of justice in Pennsylvania.
In particular, John is being honored for his considerable contributions leading a Morgan Lewis team who partnered with Community Legal Services of Philadelphia to secure more than $700 million in emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits from the US Department of Agriculture on behalf of more than 650,000 Pennsylvanian households struggling to meet their basic daily needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
John represents clients in crisis management and complex litigation, including product liability, commercial, class action, and election law matters, both at trial and on appeal. Most recently, his pro bono practice has included the protection of voting integrity in the 2020 elections and advising nonprofits during the pandemic on personal protection equipment and vaccination issues.
John is set to receive the award during the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Annual Meeting & Networking Reception on December 13.
