WASHINGTON, DC, April 15, 2021: Morgan Lewis partner Kathleen Sanzo has been selected as a recipient of the Food and Drug Law Institute’s (FDLI) 2021 Distinguished Service and Leadership Award. Established in 1993, the award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the food and drug law community through their leadership and other work in the field. Honorees are selected by a committee composed of recent FDLI award recipients. Kathleen is the only individual in private practice selected for this year’s award. The other recipients are Dr. Peter Marks, director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, and Mark Raza, acting chief counsel, at the US Food and Drug Administration.

Kathleen is the leader of the Morgan Lewis FDA practice and co-chair of the firm’s life sciences industry group. Kathleen centers her practice on regulatory and compliance issues connected to FDA regulated products. She leads and counsels clients on all legal and regulatory issues concerning product development and testing, manufacturing, and marketing of prescription, OTC drug, biologic and vaccine products, and orphan drugs; food, dietary supplements, and cosmetic product manufacture, approval, marketing, and distribution; food, drug, and device compliance and enforcement matters; and consumer product issues regulated by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and state enforcement agencies.

Kathleen and the other recipients are set to be honored at the FDLI’s annual conference on May 18.
