In an article for Bloomberg News’ Cyber Bulletin newsletter, partner David Plotinsky shared that the US Department of Commerce’s decision in June 2024 to ban sales of a Russian cybersecurity company’s products in the United States “may be the tip of the iceberg.”
David, who was acting head of the US Department of Justice’s foreign investment review section during the former administration, drafted a 2019 executive order to “secure the information and communications technology and services supply chain” in May 2019.
The article also notes that David’s thoughts that additional regulatory actions against other foreign tech and communication companies “could soon follow.”
