In a Legaltech News feature on potential trends in 2024, partner and DEI Task Force co-leader John Lee said diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) will remain a “social, political, and legal hotbed” as organizations weigh the demand for more inclusive practices against potential litigation threats and government action.
“We expect future waves of litigation challenging DEI practices in the employment, supplier, and other spaces in the wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Harvard/UNC cases,” John said. He noted that the firm’s DEI Task Force is seeing companies “look for ways to mitigate risk and create effective DEI strategies in the current climate.”
