Jane Accomando

Jane represents clients in investigations conducted by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s (NRC’s) Office of Investigations, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and DOE’s Office of Enterprise Assessments. She leads confidential investigations into allegations of wrongdoing, conducts safety culture assessments, and provides training to company leaders on detecting and preventing retaliation.

Much of Jane’s practice relates to multimillion-dollar claims against the federal government regarding the government’s obligation to accept and dispose of spent nuclear fuel. She represents clients in litigated cases before the US Court of Federal Claims and annual spent fuel settlement submissions to the DOE. Jane has advised clients on dozens of spent fuel damages claims over the course of her career.

Jane advises nuclear startups (including fusion startups) and their partners related to navigating the NRC’s licensing process, and developing procedures, programs, and training to comply with NRC regulations. As a member of the Nuclear Energy Institute’s Advanced Reactor Regulatory and Part 53 Taskforces, Jane closely tracks regulatory developments related to advanced reactors.
