21 février 2025

CHICAGO, February 21, 2025: Bolstering its insurance recovery and dispute resolution capabilities for corporate policyholder clients, Morgan Lewis welcomes partner Emily Garrison. Resident in the firm’s Chicago office, Emily represents public and private companies in maximizing their insurance coverage in a broad range of sectors, including energy (particularly oil and gas), financial services, technology, retail and ecommerce, hospitality, and transportation.

“As emerging risks like cyber liability, environmental exposure, and climate change outpace traditional insurance frameworks, corporate policyholders need sophisticated counsel to identify coverage gaps and leverage fully their insurance policies,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Emily’s arrival bolsters our capabilities to address multifaceted issues with precision and creativity in an increasingly complex risk landscape.”

Emily represents corporate policyholders and companies in coverage disputes involving commercial general, directors and officers, cybersecurity, professional, employment practices, and environmental liabilities, as well as first-party property damage. She manages all aspects of coverage litigation, arbitration, and mediation in negotiations with insurers. Emily also provides counseling to clients and advises them on the structure, placement, and renewal of insurance programs.

“Our insurance coverage practice has seen tremendous growth, and Emily’s arrival continues that momentum,” said Troy S. Brown, leader of the firm’s global litigation practice. “Emily’s extensive knowledge across the spectrum of policyholder disputes and counseling, combined with her industry reputation and entrepreneurial drive, further enhances the breadth of services our market-leading insurance recovery practice offers to clients.”

Over the past 12 months, Morgan Lewis has welcomed nearly two dozen partners to its global litigation team in a wide range of practice areas and concentrations, including white collar litigation and government investigations, securities enforcement, class action and product liability litigation, intellectual property, and financial services litigation. Recent additions include cybersecurity, incident response, and privacy partners Heather Egan and Hannah Levin; environmental litigator Matthew Thurlow; trial lawyers and former prosecutors Ashley Lynam and Jacob Sand; a five-partner West Coast intellectual property litigation team; antitrust and competition partner Paul Johnson in London; and a 54-lawyer, multi-practice team in Paris.
