In a roundup of the week’s “Legal Lions,” Law360 highlighted a Morgan Lewis victory on behalf of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA). SIFMA brought suit to block Missouri’s “anti-ESG” rules targeting financial professionals who consider “a social objective or other non-financial objective” in investment advice. The court granted SIFMA’s motion for summary judgment, finding the rules were unconstitutionally vague and violated SIFMA’s First Amendment rights.
