Anna M. Pomykala advises clients on a wide range of payroll tax and fringe benefits matters. She works with a team of benefits attorneys to guide clients on tax compliance and audit defense, as well as on finding creative solutions to benefits-related business challenges. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Anna earned her LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law.
Anna has experience counseling clients on employment taxes, fringe benefits (e.g., corporate aircraft policies, dependent care, education assistance, meals, working condition fringes), worker classification (employee or contractor), and executive compensation. As part of her practice, Anna represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service concerning audits and penalties and advises clients with regard to the exclusion, substantiation, reporting, valuation, and messaging of noncash perquisites.
Before obtaining her LL.M., Anna worked with senior management in the nonprofit/public sectors domestically and abroad in various legal and non-legal capacities. She enjoys working with leadership, and utilizes her humanities background and resourcefulness to address clients' executive compensation and other related needs.
