Alexander Ritter, a patent disputes lawyer, represents clients across a range of industries, including high tech, engineering, chemical, healthcare and medical device, and biotechnology. He provides counsel on patent infringement proceedings before German patent infringement courts and the Unified Patent Court and on validity proceedings before the patent offices and validity courts. In addition to his litigation work, Alex advises on IP-related corporate transactions. He has deep knowledge in the field of computer-implemented inventions, drawing from his technical background in computer science. He is fluent in German and English.

Alex is a leader in handling complex patent disputes in technology-driven industries. His representation of clients in high-profile cases across multiple jurisdictions, combined with his skill in navigating clients through standard essential patent (SEP) and software patent issues, makes him a valuable litigator and advocate for businesses facing IP challenges in Germany, the EU, and the United States.

Before joining Morgan Lewis, Alex served as the department chair of another global law firm’s German patent litigation practice.
