08:00 AM - 09:00 AM Pacific Standard Time

The outcome of the 2024 US elections will have short and long-term implications for businesses that sell to or collaborate with the US government, including those impacting appropriations, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) rulemaking, supply chain management, and export control compliance. Please join our lawyers and the former US Department of the Army Acting General Counsel during the Trump-Pence Administration to discuss what we may expect in the coming year.

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:

  • US Department of Defense and civilian agency spending priorities in the upcoming year, including potential expansion of Indo-Pacific, Defense Industrial Base, and aerospace work, as well as impacts to Biden Administration initiatives, such as the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
  • Impacts on rulemaking for FAR clauses and agency supplements, including DFARS and Health and Human Services Acquisition Regulation clauses, as they relate to ESG and socio-economic, conflicts of interest, and other key compliance concerns
  • Increased oversight, enforcement, and contract restrictions related to cybersecurity and supply chain management
  • Increased restrictions on contractors’ ties with China and other countries of concern, as well as growing efforts to reshore critical technologies and defense products
  • Expectations of export controls and tariffs, particularly with respect to China, Russia, and Mexico
