Morgan Lewis Wins at 2025 GCR Awards for Cartel Defense Litigation of the Year

02. April 2025

WASHINGTON, DC, April 2, 2025: Global Competition Review honored Morgan Lewis at its annual awards ceremony as the litigation team of the year in the cartel defense litigation category. The awards, held on April 1 in Washington, DC, recognize leading antitrust and competition lawyers, economists, and enforcers, as well as notable cases over the last year.

Morgan Lewis and its antitrust practice were selected as part of the litigation team that secured a significant appellate victory for Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. when the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit affirmed a lower court’s 2023 dismissal of antitrust claims related to the setting of the Intercontinental Exchange London Interbank Offered Rate (ICE LIBOR) for US dollars.

Additionally, Frances Murphy, managing partner of the firm’s London office, was a finalist for Litigator of the Year for her leadership of Morgan Lewis’s London competition team and her impact on precedent-setting competition litigation and investigations.

The firm was further recognized as a finalist in the Merger Control Matter of the Year and Litigation of the Year (non-cartel defense) categories.
