Partner Diana Cortes spoke with Law360 about her return to Morgan Lewis, which she credits for encouraging her to pursue opportunities to develop as a lawyer. Diana most recently served as Philadelphia’s City Solicitor, where, among other things, she helped manage the city’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and fielded legal and policy challenges against COVID emergency orders. Diana said the position is one she will draw upon in her return to private practice.
"This background has prepared me well to advise on and against class action and large group litigation initiated by attorneys general and municipalities, advise clients on crisis management and ethics inquiries, and help defend against matters in Philadelphia and federal court," Diana said.
