Wajid Ashraf focuses his practice on advising asset managers and sponsors on the structuring, formation, fundraising, and general operation of private investment funds, as well as advising Gulf Cooperation Council-based sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, and other institutional investors on their global fund investments. Wajid advises across the full spectrum of private funds across asset classes, including credit, private equity, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure, and hedge funds.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Wajid worked as an investment funds associate at another US law firm and an international law firm in London and, previously, as legal counsel in the asset management group of a Financial Times Stock Exchange 100 Index life and pensions business in the United Kingdom. Wajid has advised sponsors and investment teams on a range of asset management activities, including fund formation and fundraising, fund investments, secondary transactions, private placements, and investment management agreements.
