Leora (Lorie) Grushka focuses her practice on defending employers in various industries from claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Lorie also advises and counsels employers on daily employee-relations matters, from onboarding to separation, as well as issues that may arise throughout the employment relationship.
Lorie has experience performing all aspects of litigation to defend employers in a wide range of employment litigation matters. She has represented her clients in federal and state courts, as well as before administrative agencies, including for discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims brought under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, § 1981, § 1983, and New York State and City Human Rights Laws. She has also ensured compliance with collective bargaining agreements, internal, state, federal, and local regulations. Additionally, Lorie counsels clients on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship, including drafting and negotiating employment and separation agreements, onboarding and separation processes, reductions in force, furloughs, WARN notices, leaves of absence, accommodations, performance evaluation and discipline, risk assessment, wage and hour issues, policy development, handbook review, government audits, and internal investigations. Lorie regularly provides guidance to clients regarding federal, state, and local employment laws and guidance related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lorie’s practice also includes conducting due diligence on corporate transactions, from a labor and employment perspective.
