David D. Sylofski focuses his practice on a broad range of structured finance and securitizations with an emphasis on the representation of issuers, sponsors, sellers, servicers, and underwriters in residential mortgage-backed securities transactions (RMBS) and structured vehicles, including RMBS backed by prime jumbo qualified mortgage (QM) loans, non-QM loans, investment property and other business purpose mortgage loans, and reperforming, nonperforming, and second-lien mortgage loans, as well as real estate mortgage investment conduit resecuritization transactions.
David advises investment funds, insurance companies, and other financial institutions on whole loan sales and acquisitions and in forming residential mortgage acquisition platforms. He also represents underwriters and investors in the securitization of shared appreciation home equity investments. In addition, he regularly advises clients on compliance in regard to new and proposed legislative and regulatory changes affecting asset-backed securitization.
