Carlyle Edwards-Balfour defends and counsels employers on a wide range of employment-related issues. Carlyle represents employers in single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, and complex collective and class action litigation, particularly defending management against discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims. He advises employers on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, along with employment-related aspects of corporate transactions.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Carlyle gained experience as an associate in the New Jersey office of a national firm. While there, he focused on employment litigation and represented employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling.
During law school, Carlyle served as a staff editor for the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution and an executive editor for the ADR Competition Honor Society. He also participated in the mediation clinic and graduated with a certificate in dispute resolution.
After law school, Carlyle served as the law clerk to Assignment Judge Stuart A. Minkowitz of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Morris-Sussex Vicinages.
