As a qualified US and European patent attorney, Alexandra Koseva brings a cross-jurisdictional approach to her intellectual property (IP) practice. With a B.S. in computer science, Alexandra focuses primarily on software patent prosecution. She has worked on matters involving a range of technical fields, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, Internet technologies, mobile applications, databases, computer architecture, computer user interfaces, data visualization, and data analytics software. Alexandra is fluent in Bulgarian.
Alexandra focuses her practice on patent prosecution and counseling, assisting clients with patent procurement and portfolio development both domestically and internationally. She was previously a summer associate with the firm.
Before law school Alexandra worked in-house as a patent engineer at SAP Labs where she gained experience in patent prosecution, portfolio development and IP counseling. She also served as an intern at the European Patent Office (EPO) in Munich, Germany. Alexandra worked as a patent law clerk at two IP boutique law firms in Silicon Valley before joining Morgan Lewis.
In law school, Alexandra was recognized as an Intellectual Property Fellow and received a full-tuition scholarship award. She was selected to represent Santa Clara Law in the AIPLA’s Giles Rich Patent Moot Court Competition (2019), and the USPTO’s National Patent Application Drafting Competition (2020). Alexandra was also chosen for the trial team and participated in a competition organized by the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association (SFTLA). Alexandra received the AIPLA’s Jan Jancin Award nomination given by Santa Clara Law to one student who has demonstrated excellence in IP law.
