Alasdair Johnston advises clients on complex commercial disputes in the English courts and in international arbitration. He has experience in matters before the English High Court and in arbitration disputes under the rules of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), DIFC-LCIA Arbitration Centre (prior to its abolition), and the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC). Alasdair also has experience advising clients on complex internal investigations.
Alasdair’s recent experience includes advising institutional shareholders in UK-listed companies in complex securities litigation. He is involved with a number of market-leading claims under Section 90A of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, including cases in which the English courts have considered novel questions of law relating to that provision.
Alasdair was previously seconded to Morgan Lewis’s Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices. During this time, Alasdair advised regional and international clients on a variety of matters under the laws of the United Arab Emirates, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).
