Now that the 2024 US presidential and congressional elections have concluded, we expect to see changes in labor and employment law. Potential changes include a shift toward employer-friendly policies across the US Department of Labor, rollbacks on pro-union National Labor Relations Board stances, and a critical approach to diversity initiatives by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.
Policymakers may also pause minimum wage and other compensation increases, tighten immigration policies, halt controversial OSHA rulemaking efforts, end noncompete restrictions, and move administrative agencies away from enforcement and toward compliance.
