Brianna Ricqué Howard’s practice focuses on complex business litigation, class action defense, and intellectual property disputes. She represents clients in all phases of litigation and advises on claims of product liability litigation, data privacy, unfair competition claims, consumer fraud, and intellectual property infringement. She has obtained key victories in state and federal courts across the United States, as well as domestic and international arbitrations.
Brianna advises corporations, small business, and private individuals across the pharmaceutical, healthcare, technology, retail, and financial services industries. She has experience in handling all phases of litigation, including fact investigation, discovery, motion practice, and trial.
She is the co-author of “Class/Collective Actions in the United States” published by Practical Law, and previously served as vice chair of the Litigation Committee for the ABA Young Lawyers’ Division and board member of The American Lawyer’s Young Lawyer Editorial Board. Brianna has also focused part of her practice on clients involved in gaming, esports, and virtual reality technologies. She has published a number of articles about the legal issues facing these industries, including pieces in Forbes, TechCrunch, and VentureBeat.
Brianna maintains an active pro bono practice and a commitment to community involvement. She frequently volunteers for local community organizations focused on women and children in need, and mentors college and law students. She also currently serves as an adjunct professor at USC Gould School of Law.
While in law school, Brianna served as the executive editor of Hastings Women’s Law Journal, a board member of Hastings Black Law Students Association, and a board member of Hastings Moot Court where she was named National Champion, First Place Oralist, and Second Place Brief of the Cardozo/BMI Entertainment and Media Moot Court Competition. She also served as an extern for Judge Saundra B. Armstrong of the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
