LOS ANGELES, September 1, 2021: Morgan Lewis partner Jason Mills has been confirmed by the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Labor and Employment Law Section to serve as the employer co-chair of the Occupational Safety and Health Law Committee for a two-year term. The committee, which includes hundreds of members, is composed of US Department of Labor (DOL) officials, employers, management-side lawyers, and labor representatives, and it serves as a primary conduit between employers and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
In his position as the employer co-chair, Jason will take the lead on behalf of employers in coordinating with DOL on OSHA-related topics and planning and hosting the annual midwinter meeting, where members, officials, and judges converge to present on substantive state and federal OSHA issues. At Morgan Lewis, Jason represents employers in the full range of employment-related claims, the defense of OSHA citations, and putative wage-hour class actions. His broad experience as a trial lawyer includes defending employers in multiple jury trials addressing wrongful termination, discrimination, and disability claims.
Morgan Lewis’s US-wide occupational safety and health practice advises and defends clients across industries on federal and state workplace health and safety law compliance. The team is led by partner Jonathan Snare, who served as both deputy solicitor of labor and acting assistant secretary of labor for OSHA.
