Katrina Slack counsels clients on commercial and technology transactions, with an emphasis on intellectual property (IP) ownership, licensing, and protection. Katrina assists clients by drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including licensing, service, joint development, supply and manufacturing, distribution, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and other similar agreements involving innovative technology. She also has experience advising clients on IP and technology aspects of mergers and acquisitions and venture capital financings, including conducting due diligence and drafting and negotiating ancillary agreements. Katrina is knowledgeable in open-source software compliance and strategy, as well as website terms of service and privacy policies.
Katrina currently serves on the Silicon Valley Pro Bono Committee. During law school, Katrina worked at a boutique law firm in San Francisco, focusing on criminal IP enforcement and online anti-counterfeit monitoring. Before practicing law, she worked as a legal assistant for Sony Pictures Entertainment in Los Angeles.
