Julian C. Williams

With respect to privacy and data security laws and related requirements, Julian’s work includes representation of companies faced with class actions, and advice in connection with data breaches and privacy and cybersecurity compliance issues such as privacy policies and notice, and information security policies. His experience includes the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), state data security laws, the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

In his work with retail and ecommerce companies, Julian advises clients on a variety of operational, regulatory, and other legal issues. Areas within his counseling practice include privacy, data security, data collection, consumer protection laws, online contracting and website terms, gift cards, loyalty programs, unclaimed property/abandoned property and escheat laws, and advertising and marketing programs. Julian works closely with clients on retail operations and compliance, including the launch of bricks and mortar stores across the United States. Julian also has experience handling unclaimed property or abandoned property matters, including advising clients on complying with, managing, and minimizing escheat obligations, and representing companies in voluntary disclosure agreements.

In his pro bono practice, Julian serves the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, and represents children in dependency proceedings through the Support Center for Child Advocates.
