Hosang Lee centers his practice on patent prosecution, licensing, and litigation and advises on strategic planning, patent portfolio management, and opinion work. Hosang prepares and prosecutes US and non-US patent applications, performs intellectual property (IP) due diligence, and conducts patentability, infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate analyses for his clients. He also has structured and negotiated licensing agreements and litigated patent and trade secret cases. Hosang is active in post-issuance US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) proceedings, spanning reissues and inter partes review, covered business method patent review, and post-grant review.
Hosang has nearly 20 years of experience counseling both Korea-based and international clients in the United States and Korea. His patent experience covers a wide range of disciplines, including automotive technologies (engine control, electric and hybrid vehicles, navigation systems, and electric parking systems), semiconductor devices, lighting devices, landline and wireless communications, electronic materials, fuel cell technology, solar energy and green technology, medical devices, and display devices such as plasma display panels (PDPs), liquid crystal displays (LCDs), and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs).
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Hosang was a partner in the IP practice of another global law firm, and previously worked as a patent attorney in Korea. He is fluent in English and Korean.
