The article looks at the fate of the SEC’s climate disclosure rules, state-level ESG regulations with a spotlight on California, the increased scrutiny of voluntary carbon markets, the European Union’s ESG framework and its implications for US investors, and the state and federal divergence on ESG investing. The authors conclude with a discussion on how companies can prepare themselves for this new landscape.
