Robert Jacques is a commercial litigator with deep insurance knowledge. As part of his policyholder practice, Robert has handled more than $1 billion in claims under various types of policies, including cyber, directors’ and officers’ (D&O), fiduciary liability, commercial general liability (CGL), environmental, product recall, errors and omissions (E&O), and property/business interruption. Robert also writes, comments, and presents on complex coverage issues, informed by his certifications in risk and information systems control (CRISC) and as a chartered property casualty underwriter (CPCU) and associate in claims (AIC).
Robert also helps clients place coverage and consider risk management more broadly, including directly advising boards of directors and risk managers. Robert’s clients come from a range of industries, including tech, life sciences, financial services, private equity, higher education, consumer products, agricultural, and automotive.
Robert also has experience representing companies in non-insurance litigations, particularly defending against product liability claims and asserting administrative actions against various governmental agencies. Robert maintains an active pro bono practice focused on criminal justice and insurance counsel for non-profits.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Robert worked in the litigation departments of two other international law firms in Washington, DC.
