Cassie Sciortino focuses her practice on complex intellectual property (IP) rights disputes and counsels clients in copyright and trademark registration, clearance, licensing, and enforcement matters, with an emphasis on assisting media, technology, and retail companies with copyright protection and enforcement. Previously at the US Copyright Office, Cassie brings this experience and her particular knowledge associated with implementing the Music Modernization Act to the firm’s IP practice.

While at the Copyright Office, Cassie helped draft new regulations to revise music licensing laws, drafted sections of the Copyright Office’s May 2020 report to Congress on updating Section 512 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and advised whether to grant or deny final administrative appeals of rejected registrations.
