Ashley J. Hale helps employers navigate a wide range of employment issues. She represents employers in high-stakes individual, class, and collective action litigation and in administrative agency actions concerning federal and state labor and employment statutes (including wage and hour and discrimination claims).
In addition to her litigation work, Ashley handles sensitive and high-profile internal investigations involving alleged sexual harassment, workplace misconduct, discrimination, and whistleblower claims. She also advises on appropriate responses and remediation at the conclusion of those investigations, including by providing harassment and diversity training.
Ashley advises clients on compliance with various federal and state laws, including the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage and hour laws. She conducts internal audits and navigates employers through investigations brought by federal and state agencies. Ashley closely follows developments on New York–specific laws, including the New York Labor Law, and helps clients develop strategies to comply with these rapidly changing laws. Ashley frequently writes articles on these subjects.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, she was senior counsel in the Labor and Employment Law Division of the New York City Law Department, where she represented the City of New York in a broad range of labor and employment law matters before federal and state courts.
