Adam C. Abrahms provides employers sophisticated counsel on strategic labor-management relations in both organized and nonunion operations. He guides employers through collective bargaining and other complex labor negotiations and counsels on matters related to union organizing, representation/decertification elections, corporate campaigns, unfair labor practices, and union contract administration and management. Adam represents clients in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and other federal and state agencies, and in federal and state courts. Adam frequently represents employers in the healthcare sector and also works with clients in the energy, logistics, transportation, hospitality, and media and entertainment industries.
Adam serves as a trusted advisor to employers for national bargaining strategy and negotiations. He has negotiated in a myriad of contexts, including first contract, successor, effects, and closing agreements, as well as in multi-unit, multi-location, multi-employer, and multi-union situations. In addition, Adam handles a variety of employment-related matters for employers, from counseling on compliance with federal and California employment, wage and hour, and noncompete issues, to assisting with developing and implementing preventive workplace practices, policies, and procedures. He also defends disputes involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination in federal and state courts and before federal and state administrative agencies.
Adam regularly speaks and writes on labor and employment law, and he has advised elected officials, including members of Congress and the California State Legislature, on issues relative to employment.
